Mr. Bob Simpson, Director of Intergovernmental Relations for the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC), is this year’s recipient of the Commissioner’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration.
This IPAC NWT Regional Group award recognizes a public sector practitioner whose career exhibits the highest standard of excellence, dedication and accomplishment. It highlights the achievements of an outstanding individual who – by practice, in writings or through other endeavours – has made a significant contribution to the field of public administration in the Northwest Territories.
As this year’s winner, Mr. Simpson has clearly demonstrated outstanding leadership skills, innovation, accomplishments and values throughout his public service career. In a range of roles from Chair of the Gwich’in Land Use Planning Board, to Chief Negotiator of the combined Gwich’in and Inuvialuit self government negotiations process and Director of Intergovernmental Relations for the IRC, Mr. Simpson has shaped and influenced policy frameworks across a stunning array of fields in the NWT.
